Senior Alexandra Brown of the track team set a school record in the 5000 meter run Friday as she competed in the Harrison Dillard Twilight, hosted by Baldwin-Wallace University.

The track team finished fourth as the Horizon League Outdoor Championships concluded Sunday at Farmers National Bank Field on the campus of Youngstown State University.

Behind Maria Heckman setting a school record in the pole vault, the track team is fourth after Saturday's second day of the Horizon League Outdoor Championships at Farmers National Bank Field on the campus of Youngstown State University.

Although sophomore Maria Heckman has broken the women's pole vault record (3.8m) at Wright State three times now, she admitted that she wasn't always successful with the sport and had to work really hard to reach the skill set where she is today.

A rise to greatness can take time for a collegiate runner. For Wright State's Alexandra Brown, who had few college running options, a chance was all she needed to become one of the program's all-time greats.

The track team will compete in the 2017 Horizon League Track & Field Outdoor Championships held at Farmers National Bank Field on the campus of Youngstown State University May 5-7.
