Maria Harrison, a senior on the track team, has been selected as the Horizon League Female Field Athlete of the Week for the week ending December 8, it was announced Tuesday by the league office.

The track team competed Saturday in the second day of the unscored Golden Flashes Gala hosted by Kent State.

Maria Harrison's weight throw of 16.22m crushed the old school record of 15.76m held by Cortney Mann 2006.

The track team opened their indoor season Friday at the Golden Flash Gala, held at the Kent State Fieldhouse in Kent, Ohio.
